readThat's it - we're done. I blog to you from the comfort of a car speeding up the a30. I promised you video for today but due to some 'technical' problems it'll have to wait. I'll make a few more posts in the next couple of days that'll include the trip stats and extra pictures etc. One final big thanks to everyone that read and contributed to the blog! Mark
This is me pointing at lands end - it's just behind the farm i think. We've stopped at a campsite and will do the last mile tomorrow. I shall try and video the final mile by taping the phone to my head - i'll post the results tomorrow! Couple of nasty hills out of penzance but it's all done now. Looking forward to a few beers and sitting about in the sun for the rest of the day! Mark
Chris went all religious on me today. This is him praying. At the shrine of the strawberry cornetto. Staying off the a roads in cornwall means going up am awful lot of short, steep hills. I got my 1st puncture today - 866 puncture free miles! We'll be staying in chasewater tonight, just outside of redruth. Mark.
We've made it to padstow.. The campsite is nice but the town is a bit busy. I guess you have to expect that in the summer though. Think we saw an adder today - well, it could have been a grass snake; we're not that sure. Think we're doing another easy day tomorrow - it's getting more like a holiday now! Mark
This is the view from widemouth bay, much nicer than the 30% hill that's just around the corner! Lots of climbing earlier today but now we're on the camel trail into padstow so it's all very flat for the rest of the day. Currently stopped and having a cream tea! Looking forward to pitching the tents early and having plenty of rest this evening. Think we did 72 miles of very hilly devonshire countryside yesterday and the legs are feeling it a bit! Mark.
We're currently camping in bude. The roads have been much nicer today and the weather was great... The devon hills have been hard work in the sun but the views have been well worth it. Saw a pheasant earlier too, and some deer so not too bad a day. Hoping to get to padstow tomorrow and eat some pasties! Mark.
We're both very tired today so we've stopped early, set up camp and are getting some rest. The mileage wasn't amazing today but our average speed is looking good. Think it's pasta for tea and an early night! Saw a flock of geese earlier and chris reckons there's a dunnock in the hedge where we're camping. We're just on the outskirts of worcester now so will hopefully hit the westcountry tomorrow. Am pleased to say that it hasn't rained a lot today (so far) and it's actually been sunny in places! Mark.
